This western notecard set is a tribute to the western ranching heritage of Westcliffe, Colorado. An ideal Colorado gift idea for the western at heart. Each collage of wallpaper samples on the face of the cards, has been rescued from the Historic Beckwith Ranch. The Beckwith Home, which is on the U.S. Register of Historic Places, was built by Senator Elton Beckwith in the late 1870s for his wife, Elsie and daughter, Velma. The Beckwith brothers, Elton and Edwin, established the cattle ranch in 1874.  At its’ peak, the ranch was one of the largest cattle operations in Colorado. The Beckwiths were one of the first ranching families in the Wet Mountain Valley. Today “Friends of the Beckwith Ranch” are attempting to raise funds for the preservation of this tribute to Colorado’s ranching heritage. The assorted wallpaper cards are sold as a set of 3, include historic information on the backside of each. Envelopes are included.
